A new survey article on Martin Lings by Amira Kotb, in French, but with some rare photographs even if you don't read French. Closer to hagiography than academic norms, but informative.

Concerning Lings/the Perennialist influence on the Islamic world, I thought you may be interested in a recent talk given by the newly-appointed Shaykh of Al Azhar:
Someone has commented on the perennialist "undertones" of the above talk and this picture of the Shaykh with Martins Lings and the Grand Mufti of Egypt (Shaykh Ali Jum'ah) may provide some pointers:
