The Swedish Institute in Paris is launching an exhibition entitled “Soleil et Lune. Andreas Eriksson en dialogue avec Ivan Aguéli” (“Sun and Moon: Andreas Eriksson in Conversation with Ivan Aguéli”) 20 October 2026 to 10 January 2027 at the Swedish Institute, 11 rue Payenne, 75003 Paris, Tuesday to Sunday, 12 pm to 7 pm. Late opening on Thursday, to 9 pm. Free admission.
Andreas Eriksson (b. 1975) is a contemporary Swedish artist who “works… in the fields of painting, photography, sculpture, film, and printmaking. Nature—especially trees—is an important source of inspiration for him,” according to Wikipedia.
According to the Swedish Institute,
At first glance, one might think that the differences between the two artists could not be greater. Ivan Aguéli, the anarchist, the Sufi, whose life of wandering in search of wisdom led him to an early grave, in extreme poverty. And Andreas Eriksson, whose art emerges from a single place. One constantly on the move, the other making immobility a necessary condition of painting. Yet, when we see their works side by side, the biographical differences seem to fade away. What unites them is the presence of the sensory in their work. Earth, stones, trees for Andreas Eriksson; sky, sun and moon for Ivan Aguéli. These paintings live in the same atmosphere and reflect a common quest for truth.

In addition, there is a book by Sara Arrhenius, director of the Institute, that “presents the works of the two artists in parallel.”
My thanks to Marco Pasi for bring this exhibition to my attention.
